I am the assistant director of LVKids. God has blessed me with this position to share His love with the amazing kids at Lakeview. Working with Hannah’s vision, we are excited to watch the LVKids program grow for GOD!
Hello! My name is Jennifer Fulmer and I am the Worship Leader here at Lakeview Church. My husband, Jeffry, and I have been married for 17 years. We met while in ministry school at Church of the Highlands. He and I married in 2004 and moved to Knoxville, TN where we came on staff at a new church plant in the area. We had 2 of our 4 children while living in Tennessee: Jocelyn (14), Selah (11). God shifted our hearts to then come back to Birmingham to be closer to family. Here in Birmingham we then had our other 2 children: Bella Kate (8), and Laith (5).
Coming from a musical ministry family, I begin leading people in worship at a very young age. I have always had a passion for seeing people enter into the presence of God. I believe that one powerful moment in worship and in the presence of God can change a life forever. Over the years, I have served on several worship teams and worked as an Assistant Worship Leader at Canvas Church before stepping into my first Worship Leader position here at Lakeview in September of 2017.
My vision for Lakeview Worship is to build a solid team of musicians and vocalist who also share a passion for worship. My goal is to equip and empower my teams to be confident in their giftings and talents. I believe that everyone who shares the stage with me are also leaders and more than capable of leading others in worship.
I also oversee the audio/visual, sound & livestream teams. Very thankful to be surrounded by and get to serve alongside of so many amazing people each week. May God be glorified in all that we do.
I am so blessed to be able to introduce myself to you! I was appointed to serve as the Pastor of Lakeview UMC in July of 2020 ( yes, smack dab in the middle of covid!) While that was difficult because I am a hand shaker and a hugger, this church made the process easy. Lakeview is an incredible church with an incredible future. I have been a Pastor for 14 years now and have been able to watch God move in and through a lot of people. Simply put, I have a passion for growth. For myself and for any church I serve. I have always known that the stakes are high, that more lives need Jesus. I was blessed to be the 2016 Mountain Lakes District Denman Evangelism Nominee. I have been a teacher for the North Alabama Conference’s Healthy Church Initiative and have been a speaker twice at Annual Conference. I have been blessed to speak at numerous Christian conferences. I have a business background and went back to school later in life. I completed the UMC, Course Of Theological Studies Program at Emory University(Candler). Then my wife and I sold our company and my church voted to move me to full time( God’s knows what He is doing!). I grew up in the UMC and was a Sunday School Teacher and then a Young Adult Leader prior to answering my calling to preach. As a Lay Leader, I worked with the Office of the Bishop to create a Young Adult initiative in the Conference. I studied and was mentored for many years by Dr. Robin Scott and Rev. Terry Bentley(DS). I am currently serving on the Council of Finance for the UMC. I am married to an incredible woman of God ( Ashley ) and I have two daughters who are believers ( Emma and Bradley). Emma is a Senior at Auburn University, majoring in Public Relations and Bradley is a Sophomore at Auburn Of Montgomery, Studying Exercise Science and runs on the Cross Country Team there.
As the Pastor at Lakeview, I want you to know you have a place here.
I believe we should do life and everything in it with great passion.
My favorite saying is, “Until the nets are full!”
My favorite verse of Scripture is Matthew 19:26
I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and feel that they will be handed out in the Kingdom!
Whether you decide to grow your faith at Lakeview or not, know that I care and am available should you ever need a friend or pastor to talk to. If you do come to Lakeview, put your seatbelt on, and be ready to grow spiritually and help us to grow numerically.

Hi! I’m Christal Prater and I’m so excited to be the new Youth Director! My family and I moved to Pelham this past summer, and we absolutely love it here!
I have been married to my husband, Jimmie, for almost 18 years. We met and married while in college at Jacksonville State University. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in forensic investigation and psychology.
We have three young boys: Corbin(12),Sawyer (10) and Everett(7).
They keep us on our toes and are a huge reason why we have been involved in children’s ministry since 2011.
Jimmie has been involved in the music ministry since we have been together and is currently playing bass for Lakeview’s Praise band. He will also be very involved with the youth program.
My last job was working for the Alabama Sheriff’s Youth Ranches. We lived on a girl’s ranch in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. We were house parents to over 70 foster girls in the 3.5 years we worked and lived here. The girls ages ranged from 12 – college age. We remain in contact with many today.
I have also been a VBS coordinator and Children’s Director at a previous church. I really enjoy serving kids and coordinating lessons and fun activities. But I do have more hands-on experience with older youth so I am so glad God placed us here at Lakeview.
I will oversee Lakeview’s new venture into the Upward Sports program. We will start a soccer league this spring and hope to expand to more sports and seasons in the future. I look forward to working with our congregation to get this started.
Some of my hobbies include: reading, arts and crafts, cooking, playing outside with my boys, and camping. I hope to incorporate these things, and use my talents in the youth program! I will always have an open door policy for the Youth, parents and anyone at Lakeview. I love to pray for people and be a listening ear. So please feel free to contact me anytime.
I’m very excited and want to thank you for this opportunity! I have a lot of new ideas and fun adventures ahead!!
Hannah Sorrell is the Children’s Director at Lakeview Pelham UMC. Hannah has been heavily involved in Children’s Ministry for almost 15 years. During that time, she was also a Children’s Event Coordinator, as well as a volunteer. Hannah’s passion for this ministry comes from her love of children. Hannah enjoys serving in this role but is also appreciative of God’s reminders brought to her through children.
3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3.
LvKids strives to teach children the Word of God in order to build the foundation for their faith to grow. We are committed to teaching Children the love of Christ by not only by words, but by our actions of service and love.
Nancy has served as Church Administrator for Lakeview Church since June 2014. Nancy manages our Church office smoothly and efficiently, as well as being administrator for the church building. Her greatest ministry is connecting to the members and their families, keeping in touch when someone needs a call, sending thoughtful cards or being an ear for someone in need. Nancy enjoys gardening, walks in the park with friends and vacations with family. Interesting fact, Nancy spent 30 years as a career Johnson & Johnson Executive Administrator in the Investor Relations department at their World Headquarters. Nancy and her coworkers rang the closing bell on February 16, 2006 at the NYSE!
